Drug detox or drug detoxification is the body's metabolic process working 24 hours a day to expel noxious elements from the body. Alcohol, methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin are all examples of toxins that affect the body's natural state. There are simple and effective means to assist the body in expelling toxins. The goal of detox is to bring the body and mind back to a state of equilibrium otherwise known as homeostasis. When the body is free from drugs it may take days to get back to a state of normalcy and it is our job to make that process as comfortable as possible. |
